Tuscan Olive
A romantic Italian countryside wedding experience — vineyards, olive groves and a villa that has been standing a while.
The design
Tuscan Olive is built around the long horizontal: rows of vines, a road of cypress, a table that runs the length of a terrace. Wide media bands alternate with narrow columns of text, so the page keeps changing pace the way a day there does.
Colour is taken from the ground rather than the sky — olive, warm brown, terracotta, a faded yellow that only appears in late afternoon. Cream is the paper it is all printed on.
Names are set in Roman capitals with Renaissance proportions, wide and evenly spaced. It is the one place the template allows itself grandeur; everything else is a lunch invitation.
