How we got here

A queue at Nagar Hall

We met waiting for the same qawwali concert in Delhi, both convinced the other had the better place in the queue. Neither of us got in. We ate at the dhaba across the road instead and stayed until it closed.

Six years, four cities

Bengaluru, then Berlin, then a year of airports neither of us wants to talk about, then back. Somewhere in there we learned to argue properly and to cook exactly one dish well between us.

Back to the lake

Aanya's grandmother was married in Udaipur in 1961. We found the photographs last winter, in a tin, in Jaipur. Everything after that decided itself.

Come for the wedding. Stay for the mornings.

Four days on the water

Nothing before eight in the morning, and nothing that finishes early.
