vows.rsvp started because of a specific irritation. A friend spent eleven months and a substantial amount of money on a wedding that was, in every physical detail, beautiful — and then sent out a link that looked like a form. Six hundred people met that wedding for the first time through a page nobody had designed.
That link is the first thing a guest sees, months before the venue, the food or the clothes. It is the only part of a wedding that reaches every single person invited to it. It deserved better than a template picker.
So we build the invitation the way a stationer would: one design world at a time, drawn from a real place, with the typography, colour and pacing decided rather than chosen from a dropdown. The technology underneath is genuinely good — it has to be, for six hundred people on hotel wifi — but it is not the point, and we never make it the point.
We are small on purpose. We take a limited number of weddings a season, we say no when a date is too tight to do properly, and every experience that goes out has been looked at by a person who cared about the kerning.
