Kerala Quiet
Quiet heritage luxury — a wedding experience of brass lamps, teak thresholds and still backwater green.
The design
Kerala Quiet is the least ornamented of the heritage templates, because the source material already is. A brass lamp, a teak door, a length of unbleached cotton with a gold border: the design does little more than set them well.
The page is built on wide margins and a single centred column, the proportions of a temple threshold. Media sits under low arches. Rules are the width of a kasavu border and appear only where a section genuinely changes.
Deep green does the structural work; gold is used as a line, never as a fill. The result is warm without being loud — the register of a house that has been in the family a long time.
