Assigned seats at a friend's wedding in Bombay, neither of us knowing anyone else at the table. We left before the speeches.
Dev's work moved; Anika's did not, and then did. Four years of Thursday-night trains and a shared flat above a bakery.
We came up for two nights in the wrong season, when everything was shut and the lake was grey. We booked it on the Monday.
Both formal. Both on the water.

In the garden pavilion. Two families, one playlist, considerable tension.
In the upper garden at half past five, facing the water.
Downstairs, at one table, until the last boat.
